The Lexington Model at Embrey Mill

July 1, 2020 in Lifestyle, Uncategorized - No Comments

Hey friends!!

We were recently invited back to the beautiful community of Embrey Mill, located in North Stafford, VA, to check out The Lexington Model by Atlantic Builders! Embrey Mill is home to almost 2,000 townhomes and single-family homes. The residents have access to so many incredible features: over 10 miles of paths and wooded trails, pools, parks, doggie parks and stations, a community garden, 285 acres of open space, a racetrack park for bikes and scooters, AND a full service bistro and cafe. What more could you ask for!?

I was so excited to go check this out. I LOVE looking at model homes. It’s so fun to see how these homes are decorated, organized, and the unique features they possess! Anyone else love looking at model homes!? It can’t just be me!

For some reason when we got to the home, we went straight upstairs. Actually, I totally know why. Asher is obsessed with climbing any stairs he sees currently. So he bolted for those, and we all happily obliged to follow!

Let me tell you, the bedrooms did NOT disappoint! The Lexington Model can have 4 or 5 bedrooms, 2.5 to 3.5 bathrooms, and is a little over 2300 square feet (up to 3,000 completely finished)! The kids loved the bedroom that seemed as though it was decorated just for them!

The laundry room is also on the top floor, which I love! To me, it makes so much sense to have it up there because that’s where all the laundry is in the first place! It makes putting it away much easier.  I loved how much light there was  and it was so spacious.

The master bedroom is GORGEOUS! It has a beautiful walk-in closet with a window, a master bath with a walk-in shower and double vanity, AND an optional attached coffee bar! I didn’t even know I wanted a coffee bar attached to my bedroom until I saw it!

The main level is completely open, making it perfect for gatherings. It would be great for parties or even just having a few friends over. I love that some people can lounge in the living room, while others hang out around the island (that can seat up to 6), and all still easily talk and be together.

I love building a home because you can personalize it to your tastes. You can have the kitchen of your dreams with numerous options for cabinets, countertops, backsplashes, and appliance upgrades!

Just off the kitchen is a mudroom and large pantry with a ton of storage!

There was also a lower level where you can choose to finish the rec room, bathroom, and den or a fifth bedroom! There was also a perfect area for a deck or patio off the back of the house!

This model is the perfect family home. I love how the open concept really allows for family members to be together, and allows for plenty of space for making memories!

If you could have your DREAM HOME, what would be the TOP feature you add to it?! I’m not sure what mine would be. I think maybe a laundry shoot- but one that doesn’t necessarily use gravity since the laundry room is on the top floor. I just want the laundry to get to the laundry room from any room in the house!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hey! I’m Krista!

Hey! I’m Krista!

I live in Chesterfield, VA with my husband Drew, and our two boys, Easton and Asher. Easton was born with Down syndrome. Easton's prenatal diagnosis was one that I struggled with greatly at first. Once he was born, I realized that everything doctors told me about all the things he wouldn't be able to do weren't true, and I became empowered. I felt the call and need to share our story with others in hopes that other women walking in our shoes could see that life with Down syndrome is not scary. It is filled with wonder, excitement, and joy. Follow along as I share all about motherhood, Down syndrome, our home, and lifestyle.

xoxo, Krista
